Artifact 4: TIE 535 Instructional Design Plan
Artifact Files:
Artifact Description
In the TIE 535 class, I became more familiar
with the Understanding by Design framework. This course allowed me to create
and instructional design plan which focused on authentic learning of two major
topics in preschool: weather and the four seasons. I first came up with understandings and
essentials questions for this unit. I then created a technology-focused
performance task where the students were to create a video to be shown to their
pen pals in China. I assessed and evaluated the students with a rubric for the
video and a self-assessment rubric.
Rationale
This unit is an example of my ability to create,
plan, and design a learning environment that utilizes technology in early
childhood. The students will be introduced to new technology tools and
resources on the computer or iPad. Through observation of the students and
their video creations, the teacher would assess and evaluate the students.
