This PDF is a digital skills study that was conducted to research the changing nature of childhood for 2-5 year olds. AVG wanted to find out to what extent preschool aged children are learning tech skills faster than life ones.

This is a social bookmarking site that allows users to save links to websites. Users that have registered (for free) can tag sites, highlight text on web pages, and attach sticky notes throughout. Using Diigo, students can bookmark important websites and access them from school, home, the library or any internet-connected computer. Students will always have access to this data. Students who are old enough to understand the concept of saving bookmarks to a computer would benefit from this Web 2.0 tool.

Dropbox is a free service that allows the user to put files (photos, videos, documents) on one computer and have them accessible by all of their computers, phones, etc. This allows you to have all of your files whenever you need them. It is a great resources to introduce older students to keep them organized.

There are many features and benefits of a wikispace for the classroom. It can be used in any grade level where students have access to computers and are able to utilize them individually. Both teachers and students can use Wikispaces. Teachers can create a class website and students can create and post class projects.
YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/
Millions of videos at the push of a button. YouTube is an excellent tool for the classroom (as long as your school does not block the site altogether!). It can be helpful in any grade level for any subject. YouTube.com/Teachers has hundreds of playlists of videos that align with common educational standards, organized by subject and grade. These were created for teachers by teachers.
